I wanted to share with you that my youngest daughter was recently was awarded "Defensive Player of The Year" award for her High School basketball team.
As a father of 5 this is what really gives me joy!
I have been a basketball coach for many seasons and it was so cool for my daughter toe make the JV team as a freshman, then to be the defensive player of the year, it doesn't get any better than that.
What a wonderful accomplishment for your daughter. The best thing about all of it is listening to her coach describe her tenacity on defense. Defense is such a lost art nowadays in the game of basketball due to the lack of hype players get who know how to play it. It\’s encouraging to see a young woman who gets that defense is just as much a part of the game as offense. I wish kids today could see Jordan, Magic, Bird, Worthy, Moses, and King play the game. All were great on offense but played both ends of the floor equally well and with the same ferocity that they did on offense.
On behalf of my family and myself, please extend our congratulations to you daughter on her award. Have a great week Greg and God bless.
